89 houses in 10 Islands damaged in rain

Malé, Maldives — Heavy rains that began on August 8 have caused extensive damage across the Maldives, impacting 89 houses in 10 Islands. National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has reported that the total damage to buildings and personal belongings amounts to Rf 1,084,169.
The affected islands include Ha. Hoarafushi, Uligamu, Ihavandhoo, Kelaa, and Baarah, along with Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi, B. Eydhafushi, AA. Ukulhas, S. Hithadhoo, and S. Feydhoo.
NDMA has initiated relief efforts and is providing assistance to the affected households. Recovery and support measures are ongoing to help communities rebuild and recover from the impact of the heavy rains.
