Heavy Rainfall in Northern Provinces Causes Significant Damage; Dozens of Households Affected

Heavy rains swept through the northern provinces last night, causing widespread damage to numerous households. The hardest-hit area was Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi, where 57 houses were flooded, leading to the evacuation of 5 homes.
Other affected areas include Ha. Hoarafushi, where 2 houses reported flooding, and Sh. Feeva and Sh. Noomara, with 5 houses each being inundated due to heavy rains.
The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a general warning for continued rainfall and strong winds in the northern provinces today, urging the public to exercise caution.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and relevant agencies are actively working to provide assistance to the affected households.
