The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has urged people to take immediate precautions against severe weather conditions in the north.

Heavy rains in the north in the past few days have caused floods in many of the Ha., Hdh. Islands have been flooded. Namely, Ha.Muraidhoo, Kelaa, Dhidhoo, Hoarafushi, Thakandhoo, Utheem and Finey has suffered various damage due to flooding.

The MNDF has also sought the assistance of the MNDF to drain the water in some of these villages.It is also important to move perishable items to safe areas.Precautionary measures reduce the damage. Therefore, it is very important to be prepared for such disasters in advance.
